š Thursday: Welcome Dinner at Jim āN Nickās BBQ
The weekend kicked off with the smell of hickory smoke and the warmth of reunion. We gathered at Jim āN Nickās BBQ, where soil sisters and brothers from across the country came together for our welcome dinner. New faces were welcomed with open arms, and familiar friends picked up right where they left off. Over plates of pulled pork, mac & cheese, and Southern-style hospitality, the weekend officially began with laughter and love.
š Friday Morning: Tour of Savannah Citrus
Friday morning brought clear skies and the sweet scent of citrus as we toured the Savannah Citrus Farm. It wasnāt just a stroll through fruit treesāit was an educational deep dive! We learned how to grow citrus successfully in coastal Georgia’s unique climate, from choosing rootstock to protecting crops through winter. Guests asked questions, took notes, and left inspired to experiment with citrus in their own gardens. It was a standout event for growers of all levels.
